A Thousand

A thousand words left unspoken
What more have I to say?
If eyes could say I love you
I'd stare at you all day.

I was nothing for so long
And then suddenly I could see.
I've spent so long in darkness
That you saw nothing in me.

How can I describe this anguish
In words that make sense?
A thousand knives and all the pain
But not one single defense.

It's like I'm standing for something
But slowly falling as I weep.
I should have turned around before
But now I'm in this far too deep.

And all the marks I carry
They mean little to nothing at all
The world is full of selfish people
And I'm someone too small.

I'm desperate and I'm hurting
Like there's nothing left to do.
If hearts could speak a thousand words
I'd bleed my heart for you.
