My Typical Day

by Fernanda   Nov 30, 2005

Got home, opened the door
After dragging my feet for what felt like a mile.
Heat penetrating every pore.
The day is hot, sunny and bright
No wonder I'm sweating like a teapot.

Come in, drop myself onto a chair
I'm exhausted and glad to be home
My empty stomach insists and begs
My tired mind wants to be alone
Decide to take a break and rest.

Now I'm at peace with my thoughts
Now that they went away.
Such silence is just what I needed today.
But silence gets boring after a while,
So I listen to my therapy of sounds
The clock said 3 hours of time
Was quickly left behind.
Just sitting and singing along
To every favorite song.
When I finally turn it off,
I realize I ate half a bag of popcorn.
