Name of Thorns

by ntv650   Dec 1, 2005

In your name and in my pride I'll not long for another touch,
And for the sake of honour not succumb to tempting delights.
I will not before our time has ended, betray what I hold sacred.
Or loose sight by yielding to enticements my nature might find.

In your name I will undergo whatever you might desire,
The pain, the pleasure and anything else that to you matters.
But let me not cut myself mending us back together,
Like a glass too often dropped and finally shattered.

For not just in your name, hands or eyes does my love rely,
More, much more than this love also holds trust in high regard.
And though forgiveness was found after my heart ran aground,
Your name, blossoming inside me like a rose,- has grown thorns...
