Teddy Bear

by Lynsey   Dec 1, 2005

I listen closely as the wind blows on my soft skin
Carrying the voice my heart holds within
These clod Grey stones mark times only end
Breaking news that your heart wont mend

I watch as the rose petals dance freely in the wind
Almost like the dreams that reside in my mind
Searching for your face that I could not find
I let the rain wash over my skin making me cry I dont know where to begin

My daughter cries in my arms calling her fathers name
Though I try to tell her she is not to blame
Mothers and fathers always fight
Because of their love, they try to make it right

Hush now my darling feel the beat of my heart
No matter how bad it gets, it wont tear us apart
I see his smile in your face as I hold you in a long embrace
Daddys little girl singing like an angle of grace

I listen closely at night as she weeps
Whispering to god revealing those secrets she keeps
She holds her teddy bear tight that her father gave her before the fight
Sometimes I wish even I could hold him tight

The years pass by as I remember his face
My daughter smiles at me as she wheels me into the sun
She knows ill always be there as she whispers into my ear
Tell daddy Ill always love him and hold him dear
She holds my hand and sings the song of the angels
Whilst I take his hand and walk into the golden light of promise
