Nowhere to hide

She was a girl
just a lonely girl
but her deep dark
secrets were about to unfurl.

she chose the lonely path
deep within the engulfing shadows
trees that whisper softly
a garden where withered roses grow

people looked inside of her
often judging her tortured soul
she took out her blackened heart
always digging a deeper hole.

angels could not save her
they could not help but look away
and everyday in her world
it was just another rainy day.

she was molested by her father
contemned by her mom
inside her the fire blazes
her insides bleed like a bomb.

every beginning is just another end
from her path, her broken life
just another reason for her
to be mutilated by her very knife.

one thousand other girls
would go through what she felt
her skin was milky pale
as her life would fade away and melt

with her fingers extended
she longed to touch
a thorn from a red wine rose
the prick would make her body
bleed, and every slash would be
exposed.

when does life end
and a new journey begin
what would it prove
to cut her elegant skin?

her time was ticking rather slow
and she needed to give up hope
she couldn't deal with anything
she could not handle or even cope.

one hundred thousand feelings
bottled up and caged
just another broken heart
to add to the one hundreth thousandth page.

two hundred thousand tears
enough to fill an ocean
two hundred thousand tears
she's feeling every bitter emotion.

she could not cut herself anymore
for that didn't help at all
she was sick of every fear
that would always make her fall.

she couldn't figure what to do
to help herself be free
it seemed when she tried to open
a door, she was left without a key

shes living here in front of me
but within her soul she's already died

she crawled inside her body
the only place she could find to hide.
