December Nights

by Peter Williams   Dec 3, 2005

The fog appears like a shroud,
And in the absence of light...
Darkness.
A true love was never vowed,
And after the noble fight,
Success.
Before that cig hit my lips,
After my lighter went out,
My soul died...
During that cold December night.
Just like the stories and scripts,
There was always many doubts,
My heart lied...
During that cold December night.
Music in my ears,
Please leave me alone,
I was all-alone...
During that cold December night.
Give out a cheer,
To that cheap cologne,
I was still alone...
During that cold December night.
I threw off my tie,
And then my jacket,
While a tear ran down my cheek...
During that cold December night.
Please don't say goodbye,
Don't make a racket,
My future seemed very bleak...
During that cold December night.
Here comes old Saint Nick,
Here comes the Devil,
I thought I lost my mind...
During that cold December night.
Hurry and please come quick,
Come to my level,
Please don't leave me behind...
During this cold December night.
The angels begin to sing,
Heaven begins to cry,
My heart's not beating...
During this cold December night.
That first kiss began to sting,
But I didn't know why,
Time wasn't fleeting...
During that cold December night.
In the darkness I saw a light,
And heard a voice,
Something happened to me...
During that cold December night.
It was a wonderful sight,
There was rejoice,
As I let my heart free...
During that cold December night.
