* I know its long...thanks for taking the time to read it. *
I know this girl who was lost in love. Every morning she would wake up with a smile because she knew that she was lucky. She has a nice family, she is a becoming a nurse. But most of all she was in love. The only problem is that her heart is weak.
Her eyes filled with tears as she looked into the glass. "Mirror, mirror on the wall, am I the luckiest girl of all?" The mirror would reply "you are lucky to have the love from you mother and the care from your father...you are lucky to have the guidance of your brother and the respect from your sister...I would have to say that you are lucky to have a family who loves and honors you"
"But mirror, is my family all that makes me lucky?" The mirror would reply "you are lucky to have the knowledge to earn a career...you are lucky to have the spirit to help others...I would have to say the you are lucky being a nurse and having the ability to heal another person's pain."
With soft tears rolling down her cheeks one last time she asked "Mirror, please tell me that I am lucky to be in love" The mirror replied "the man you love is lucky to be loved by you...the man you love is lucky to have your heart...but you I'm sorry to say deserve better...you are unlucky to be mistreated by him...you are unlucky to be taken for granted...most of all you are unlucky to be loved by him"
She ran back to her bed crying and wondering why the mirror said she is unlucky. Going back to every memory that she has with the love of her life she realized the mirror is right.
She remembered the first night they met. How she felt special capturing his eye. The way they talked all night long under the blinking stars. The moment he told her that he had a son but that he was not with the mother. The way he said to trust him and everything would be alright.
She thought of the time she found out he was still with his old girlfriend. The way she cried day and night because he had lied. How she swore she would not talk to him anymore but the moment her phone rang and she heard his voice she was back into his arms.
She thought about all the times she was warned about his ways. Yet she was blind to everything. She did not want to see that he cheated and he lied. That he was abusing her heart. All she knew was that they had fun. She thought about all the moments they shared and realized that all the good memories are outweighed by the many times he broke her heart. But then she thought about the times he told her she was the best thing that happened to him. Because she was always by his side.
Then he got sent to prison. He was calling her everyday saying that he loved her. That he was wrong for hurting her and that when he comes home they are gonna be together. So she felt that she had won.
Once again she lifted her head and glanced into the mirror. As she focused on her reflection she notice that the girl she thought was lucky was a girl suffering from love. She could not stand to see the pain in that girl's eyes. But what broke her heart was that the girl looking back at her...was me.
