My Hero

by Lindsay   Dec 3, 2005

She held her daddy's hand,
And never would let go.
He was already sick,
Not to mention slow.

But that didn't stop him,
From making his daughter smile.
They would walk to the park everyday,
Mile after mile.

But one day after school,
Mommy was crying.
The little girl didn't know why,
So she just kept on smiling.

She said, "mommy please dont cry!
And mommy tell me whats wrong!"
So her mother told her the bad news,
And the little girl started to sing a song.

"I knew daddy was sick" she said.
"So I decided to write him a song.
I am going to sing it for him,
Mommy, please sing along."

Daddy you're my hero
No matter where you are
You'll be in my heart forever
And I will wish upon a shooting star
That one day, you will come back in my life
And everything will be all right
That you will hold me close to you,
And I won't cry to sleep at night
Daddy you're my hero
And will stay with me through all times.
I will never let you down
I will try to help all crimes
Daddy you're my hero
And I will love you always and forever
I will pray to you every night
And let you down, never

The little girl's daddy died on October 16
But that couldn't get her down.
She held up a smile,
Not a frown.

She knew her daddy was feeling better
And he would never have to be in pain.
And so the little girl was happy,
But nothing was the same.

Mommy was working two jobs
And the little girl was going to school
All the kids made fun of her
Like the little girl was a fool

This little girl is no longer little
These days she working to save lives of others
She is fighting for her father,
And other children's mothers.

Her daddy died of cancer
And she will never forget that day
The day her mommy told her
That her father had passed away
