Face behind the mask

by sharona   Dec 4, 2005

Some say my smile is contageous
Some say it lights up any room I walk into
When you get close enough
And look into my eyes
The hurt and the pain can be seen
Yet still I keep smiling.

I hide it well
The pain, the sorrow and sometimes
The loneliness
I walk tall
Hold my head up high
And smile.

Some say I hide behind a mask
Maybe I do
Maybe I don't
Some think I'm brave
I think I'm just personal.

I smile away my troubles
But they're never gone for good
The sun shines down
The rain falls on my face
My laughter becomes a rainbow.

It's time to face the world
So it's time to put on my mask
I walk out the front door
I take a deep breath
And my smile automatically appears.

This poem is soo good, I loved it and can relate...alot. You just have to keep you're head high and it'll most probably get better. Keep up the good work!
