My Prayer

My Prayer
---------

O God, hear my prayers, hear my plea.
Answer them and make my fears flee.
This world beneath you, the world down under
Seems to be struck by lightning and thunder.
Conceit being fed into the people's mind,
They act as if their conscience is blind.
They only care about their own wage,
They act like the Devil's concubinage.

As answer to my prayers in my dreams he did appear.
And said to me "Say your wish, before I disappear."
Suddenly I felt as though my heart was pure,
I knew what the world needed for sure.
I left out a sigh and uttered "World Peace."
He looked at me and said "Forget it, Please."
He explained to me how the people are different.
How the thoughts of one to other are irrelevant.
Finally I thought, what the heck, let me be selfish.
I said to him to be highly Intelligent is my wish.
He frowned a little, From his face I could tell he was not at ease
He thought for a moment and said, "Wait, Let me try World Peace."

And suddenly there was darkness and he was gone.
After a while I woke up and realized what I had done.
My talking in sleep had woke my grandma.
She in turn had woke my dad and mama.

However, my dream had come to an end.
So back in reality my thoughts rewind.
"If there is a soul and if there is a god
Then Bless my soul, O all mighty Lord.
However, above all there is only one basic request.
From now on when you send a man to the earth's nest,
To live at ease, to feel the breeze and to die at peace
Please, do make sure that he likes the world the way it is."

Yet it seemed that the whole thing had some funny twist.
Then it occurred to me, "Damn! I am an atheist."
