A Love Story... Part 2 1/2

The old woman continues reading her old diary entry's as a thunderstorm roars outside...

Dear Diary-

We tried to work things out
And never gave up trying,
But at nights he left me lonely
And I was always crying.

Yes, sometimes things got better
But we always ended up "just friends",
I think thats what we thought
Was meant to happen in the end.

High school was over now
It was time for us to move on,
We were both going to different colleges
I figured our love was gone.

The day before I left
To begin my brand new life,
You appeared upon my doorstep
And asked me to be your wife

I really did still love him
But I knew I had to say no,
All the horrible things he did to me
I just couldn't let them go.

I told him we would still be friends
And always stay in touch,
Little did I know it was a big mistake,
I guess I didn't realize I would miss him that much...

She put the diary down just as the storm cleared up and a rainbow appeared across the sky...
