Corpse Dance

by Amanda   Dec 6, 2005

Waltzing in the moonlight
Aware of the slight grip or his old fingers.
A little cold, but a lonely girl doesn't mind.
Forward, back, spin her around.

"Don't step on my feet,
You'll break off my toes."
"Yes, my love. Careful, I'll be," she says.
Forward, back, spin her around.

Full moon tonight, bright.
Good for seeing-dancing forever.
It's better not to bump the stones.
Forward, back, spin her around.

In the moonlight, you can see the patches.
Missing hair on his head,
Perfect hair on hers.
Forward, back, spin her around.

Her eyes; glinting mid-spin.
His eyes; empty sockets, long since forgotten.
A bit grotesque-A lonely girl doesn't mind.
Forward, back, spin her around.

A howl at the moon and all is done.
Dead, he falls. Alone she stands.
A lonely girl again in the graveyard.
Forward, back. Back in the ground.
