Wide Awake In A Dream

Life is too depressing to stay awake,
but dreaming is only a portion of reality
and reality isnt a dream afterall

maybe it is the smile that i can no longer fake,
but smiling is only a portion of emotion that i feel
and emotion could never explain the thoughts inside this head

no words to rhyme the pain inside
no rhyme could describe what i feel
when one moment everything is sunshine
and the next seems so surreal

it lasts everyday until the night
i close my eyes and attempt to go to sleep

for sleeping numbs the pain
if only for a while
if not in reality, then maybe this dream will make me smile.
