If Only Shadows Could Talk

I have a great companion with me
a friend who forever stays with me
his presence is all that makes the difference
his mere touch is something i long to sense

if you could also understand what i mean
then there has to be loads of pain that you have seen

did you wonder why
these friends share every moment of your happiness
did you wonder where
these friends hide at the moment of your loneliness

did you wonder what it would be like
if for once, hand in hand, down the lane, you could walk
did you imagined how it would be like
if for once, looking right in your eyes, your shadow could talk

as there would be

no more love stories & no more sad poems
no more bleeding as their would be no betrayel to your trust
no more ugly scars as there will be no kissing blade
no more misunderstanding between love and lust
as there will be no one left to blame

but as life could never travel on the highway of roses
and this my friend you should understand
you may dream to find the one you could call yours
or you just walk with a silent shadow forever hand in hand

as i have a great companion with me

for all those who love to live in reality
i know how stupid this fantasy seems to be
you will still fall in love, no matter if forever you have to bleed
and i just laugh watching you cry as i have someone who would die with me

    Wow again Nice poem and is very entertaining as i read it i was picturing a person running with a shadow and playing hacky sac with it and it is true there would be no sorrows in the world if everyone could have one person or thing to love them

    Very many people including myself, wonder this everyday. We are in love with the situation of having friends when the sun shines... But when something goes bad, they suddenly dissapear.. And when you finaly sort of get back on track they act like they had never left.... And you wrote about it!!! I wonder what took me so long to get to this poem. I like it a lot!
