You Wasted My Life

by Anthony   Dec 6, 2005

You told me you would love me,
But the only thing you did was lie,
I'm a broken man,
With a heart that's going to die.
I hated the deception,
But I can't control your heart.
You had complete control of mine,
And you tore it all apart.
For the longest span of time,
I thought our hatred was my fault.
But you hold the deed to that, my dear.
But you've locked it in a vault.
I've never understood your feelings,
Why you do the things you do.
But I'm sick of trying, caring,
Just being there for you.
I'm wasting my time.
I'm wasting my mind.
I'm wasting them on something,
That knows nothing of the word kind.
You are just afraid,
That someone will get inside.
Get inside the part of you,
You try so hard to hide.
Afraid of feeling,
Afraid to care.
Afraid to commit,
Afraid to be there.
