The Game

by klassickat   Dec 6, 2005

As I stare into the mirror
I turn my head in shame
as a tear runs from my eye
I realize my life's a game

I play it on myself
unknowing which way to move
it seems no matter the way I choose
all I do is lose

Society is merciless
it has no pity in the game
if you dare to make a move
you lose, it's all the same

On the board of life you move your piece
hoping for a chance
but the other always wins
and sings it's victory dance

you hang your head once more
accustomed to the loss
still you roll your dice again
praying on your toss

A wrong move once again
a walk down the wrong path
moving deeper into nowhere
a darkness full of wrath

But still you'll keep on playing
losing all the same
a board without an ending
a life caught in a game
