Reality

by Rae   Dec 7, 2005

Now i realize
all dreams must end
and you will wake up
alone again
but for a fleeting moment
time would stop
i would love you always
and forget you not
the years would pass
the pain recedes
the beautiful disaster
of you and me
but days too soon
you are pulled away
into the fiery dance
of time and space
as your spirit fades
you cant hold on
our life flashes before my eyes
one last breath escapes your lips
the day i met you
our first secret kiss
the way you held my hand so tight
did you know this would be
our last night?
on my knees i wept a prayer
and screamed inside
and in my arms
i watched you die
i sat for numbers of days unknown
lost in the mystery
of a heart of stone
every night i sleep beside
your mausoleum door
my heart lies within your coffin
clinging to the times before
and through the mist
each morning
i see you walking with her
hand-in-hand
and surrounded by the mist
each morning
i break my heart
to understand
i am now surrounded
by everything surreal
and I'm breaking my heart
just to feel
someday i will get out of here
someday i will be free
someday this dream wont end
and i wont have to face
reality

Awesome poem. It was extremely detailed, descriptive and beautifully done! It must taken alot out of you, given the nature of the situation, to write something as elegant and marvelous as this. Spectacular job, keep up the good work!
