Change

You were a kind of guy
That was different from the rest,
You always did the right thing
Always knew what was best.

Thought about the consequences
Always thought twice,
Always hung out with me,
You were just really nice.

You always included me,
Never left me out,
Whenever I was sad,
You knew what it was about.

But when the holidays ended
When I got back to school,
You weren't the same like always,
You were one of the "cool"

With them you walked around,
Passing me in the hall,
You never glanced at me,
It's as if I didn't exist at all

A few years later,
We've gone separate ways,
And I'm just wondering
If you ever thought about our 'days'

I don't think I'll forget them,
Those days of having fun,
Eating, playing, talking,
Just hanging out in the sun.

But those days I guess,
Were really too good to last,
I can't do anything now,
As it's all part of my past.
