No One's Child

by Midnight   Dec 7, 2005

A lonely child, huddling in the snow,
Gazes through a window.
A family,
Around a tree,
A part of which he will never be.
A simple mind, which cannot grasp,
why he must shiver,
while the others laugh.
A Christmas carol,
Sang with cheer,
Comes through the window, to the child's ear.
Faint memory of happiness,
Floats through the mind of the little boy's hopes.
Oh, to sing and smile, one more time,
Is his wish for that cold, snowy, wintertime.
May he once again,
Laugh and play,
With a family,
that loves his ways.
A lonely child, huddling in the snow,
gazes through a window.
