I stare at you
For just a while
And to my face this brings a smile

But I get a surprise when I turn to see
And I see you looking at me

I walk through the common room
And on you my eyes zoom
But suddenly I see you looking back at me
Could it be?

I see you with your friends
My eyes stretch to the room's other ends
But again you're looking back to me
Could it be?

I see you with him, your boyfriend
Now my heart needs to mend
Now I know it couldn't be
You and me

But why?
Why do you take notice of me?
Why do you take notice of someone so shy?
Why do you look back at me when I turn to see?
Why do we stare at each other?

I know why I stare at you
