A locked up soul

by Andrea   Dec 8, 2005

A dark brown eye of mine looking at the world,
Me being locked up in a cage, not the best
Picture I can get about you free, free beings.

People passing, walking, talking, looking at me.
My black and white stripes serve as a source
Of entertainment.
My movements are amusement, the way I walk,
The way I eat is entertainment.

What about me? What is life for me?
I sleep, then wake, then eat, then sleep, then wake...
Looking at those happy faces makes me even sadder,
They wander around the world light just as feathers.

The dream, it keeps me alive, still willing to live.
The dream about nature and freedom.
I sleep, then wake, then eat, then sleep, then wake
In hope that someday they will set me free.
