My Photosynthesising Friend

I have a very clever friend,
His name is Mr Plant
He can do all sorts of clever things
But not like maths or art

If you put him in the ground
He'll stand up straight and tall
He pushes roots into the soil
So that he doesn't fall

He gives me what I need to live
And food for himself as well
I'm glad he isn't in my class
He's brainy, I can tell

He likes to sunbathe in the sun
He soaks up all the light
He breathes just like a human
When I'm in bed at night

*written in science when everyone was asked to write a poem about photosynthesis (everyone elses was P is for...H is for ... !) my teacher was very impressed!
