Time Lapse

by Biscuit   Dec 8, 2005

The tick of a clock is the passing of time
But which part of time has been lost?
What is the difference between past and future?
Do we waste time at a cost?

The past is what we've experienced,
Things we've said and done.
The past is memories, lessons taught,
It's how our lives have begun.

The present is right here and now;
This moment in time.
It never seems to go away,
But changes all the time.

The future is what we are waiting for;
Things yet to come.
The future is consequences, good and bad,
Of everything we've done.

If there was no past we would'nt exist,
No present and we couldn't improve,
No future would leave us with nowhere to go.
Time is important, isn't that so?

    The tick of a clock is the passing of time
    But which part of time has been lost?
    What is the difference between past and future?

    This stanza was good, but the repetition of 'Time' and 'Past' ruins the flow a little. The rhyming is good however, and the syllable count is great.

    The past is what we've experienced,
    Things we've said and done.
    The past is memories, lessons taught,
    It's how our lives have begun

    Great stanza, really clicks into place and gets the poem going nicely.

    The present is right here and now;
    This moment in time.
    It never seems to go away,
    But changes all the time.

    Repetition of time, it ruins the flow because of the repetition, but it also ruins the rhyme scheme too, which is a shame considering it has gone extremely well to this point.

    The future is what we are waiting for;
    Things yet to come.
    The future is consequences, good and bad,
    Of everything we've done.

    Great stanza, using done again in the poem for a rhyming word stalls it a little, but the rest is great.

    If there was no past we would'nt exist,
    No present and we couldn't improve,
    No future would leave us with nowhere to go.

    Great stanza. The change in the rhyme scheme makes it a little more effective and powerful.

    Overall - I think the pome has a great message. Clearly written - and has a poerful meaning intertwined with the strength of eternal time.

    This is a briliant peice, not sure why it has not comments or vots as it really deserves some.

    it flows well and the content is well portrayed
