A day

I wish that i could go a day,
without you on my mind.
memories of your gentle touch,
taunting me all the time.
missing things we used to do,
or simple things you said,
are always taunting my memory,
cant get you out of my head.
some days my mind just drifts away,
to a time it was me and you,
to get through the day without these thoughts,
is very hard to do.
i know you have your own life now,
as well as i have mine,
but still i drift off to this place,
a peaceful moment there ill find.
i don't know what went wrong with us,
it seems so long ago,
but still i find I'm drifting back,
for some reason i cant let go.
you were the sun that warmed my heart,
and though we've both moved on,
you'll always be my happy place,
when everything else goes wrong.
