Daughter and Father

Dad when i woke up today i saw you crying
why your crying ? i asked
he said don't worry baby I'm fine, i say, why you lying ?
he said its nothing, go to school, enjoy your day
as i walked to school i started to wonder whats going on
thats all i thought of, I'm practically speechless, i don't know what to say
as the day goes by, my friends notice something is wrong with me
they ask whats wrong ? i just say its some family stuff
what kinda family stuff they ask, i say don't worry, just let me be
its not finally the end of 6th period, I'm happy, school is out
but all of that changes when i step out the door
i walked out and say my dad, he tells me theres something we need to talk about
we got in the care and he says, moms been a car accident
she was hit by somebody who lost control of their car
shes in the hospital right now but shes in bad shape
I'm just amazed, out of all the news I've heard, this is the worst by far
so i say to myself, no wonder he was crying in the morning
now i have to step it up, i have to be a tough girl, i have to support him
after that, there was nothing but silence
but that changed once when we got to the hospital
me and my dad were standing there
holding my moms hands while shes fighting a battle
the clock hits 9:23 pm, as you can tell we have been there for hours
my dad tells me it was a hit and run accident
one word came to mind, that word was, cowards
and right after i say that final word, we hear a flat line
we both turn to see my mom, shes gone, but its not her time
i yell at the doctors, DO SOMETHING, BRING HER BACK
all they can say is I'm sorry, SORRY, that doesn't do me good
i just think, damn cant believe shes gone, just like that
i look down to my mom and say i love you mom, goodbye
as i said that, i heard a whisper tell me its not a goodbye
in time we will see each other, tell you father theres no reason to cry
i lived a good life, i was blessed with a perfect family, its now daughter and father time
