Hesitant Farewell

I've been with you from then till now.
I have to let you go somehow.
I've watched you become quite the emotional one,
but I've stayed with you from sun to sun.

Every day, I was by your side.
I held you closely as you cried.
We grew together in our own ways.
Yes, I was with you every day.

But now, we are part of two different worlds.
Apart and away we both are hurled.
