From me, to you

by Holly Nicole Williams   Dec 9, 2005

I stared outside my window last night
As I watched you drive away
I knew down deep inside
That there was no way that you could stay.

For without no trust
And without no love
There can be no us
I guess you figured that I wasn't worth fighting for enough.

However, it doesn't stop these tears
from running down my face
I makes me wish that I never knew you in the first place.

I know that it's not really your fault
I know deep down I only have myself to blame
I blame myself
that things can never be the same.

You stood by my side through thick and thin
Everything that once was
can never be again.

So long to all the memories
And to all the good times that we had
So long to what you meant to me
And for the things that can never last.

Thanks for making me laugh
Thanks for making me smile
Thanks for making me glad
Thanks for walking that extra mile.

No more talks
on the phone past nine
No more walking the walk
Maybe oneday at another place and time.

Now that time has taken its share
I would like to thank you...
Thank you for 3 years of you just being there.

That was really good. I can connect to love poems easily most of the times, but especially this one at this point in time. It was really good, but (and no offense I only want to tell you my two cents) some of your lines are off count (rhythm) so they don't work as well as they could. But, well that's just hard, I don't even have that completely down. Anyway, good job, I really enjoyed it and felt every word.
