Grandma

by Maelle   Dec 9, 2005

I loved you from the first time that I saw you
I couldn't tear my eyes away.
I loved you till the last time I ever saw you
I still can't tear my thoughts away.

You would have been my perfect mother
Grandmother was good enough for me.
You were torn away from me
I don't know how I'm gona live.

I loved you more than anyone else alive,
And that is why you had to die,
Oh god, why did she have to die?
She was my mum, my love, my life...

I'd never seen a person better,
More generous, more sweet, more pretty,
When she was 12 you tried to kill her,
But she held on to life, and fought you back.

Because of you, she lived a life,
Worse than anyone else's.
She fought the world, and conquered all,
But not without some bruises.

Some because of you, and some because of me,
Some because of luck, and some because of rage,
But the biggest one of all,
Because of my stupidity...

And now, at still an early age,
Although she took care not to smoke,
You gave her Lung cancer...
We'll make a vote, to see who finds that fair...
