Your Friendship

by Bill Turner   Dec 11, 2005

Your thoughtfulness touching me
Wonderful words you write
Helping me break free
From the grip of my personal night

The things you say
Straight to the heart
You made me smile today
Even though miles apart

Something in all you do
That brings me to the light
Please never be through
Else I slip into the night

I picture the smile on your face
As you reach out to me
You are dignity and grace
The entire world can see

I am blessed to have you
As a true friend
All that you do
Helping my heart to mend

Bill, this is a very well written poem. It is always good to keep our friends close. When we write of friends, they always seem so wonderful, but to them, you are just as wonderful.

Emily, when you post something I will gladly review it and offer input. If you write, and write from the heart, with all that you are, you know all you need to about poetry. Poems are an expression of ideas and emotions. Write what you feel and never let anyone tell you otherwise.

    I love the fourth stanza.
"I picture the smile on your face
As you reach out to me
    You are dignity and grace
    The entire world can see"
To me it spoke volumes because if I had to describe my best friend, this is how I would describe her. Awesome poem.

    Bill,

The words in your write are filled with such warmth, just as a good friendship is. You indeed have a way with words.

    Best regards,

    Steve
