If it was only that easy

Remember a Hero,
for what he had to give,
not what he took.

Remember a Hero,
for good deeds plentiful,
not his mistakes.

Remember a Hero,
for the awe his skills drove into you,
not the loses.

Remember a Hero,
for the brilliance he brought,
not the fall he suffered.

Remember a Hero,
for the sacrifices made,
not the benefits gained.

Remember a Hero,
for the cries of victory,
not the boo’s of losing.

Remember a Hero,
for the rallies of inspiration,
not the howls of criticism.

Remember a Hero,
for the fond memories and great respect,
not the humiliation nor bitter thoughts.

Remember a Hero,
for his Hay Day, his time,
not the final days and hours of decline.

Remember a Hero,
for what he is worth,
not more, not less.

Wow. I am speechless. This poem is AMAZING... and the power of the words blew me away. I love the way you wrote this, because it is so true. Most people remember others for their death, or for their mistakes, but they never seem to remember them for the great things they did. Great job, I really liked this poem. =)
