Treasured Photo

by Ben   Dec 11, 2005

My head full of regret,
as I sit here looking back,
of you just passing me by,
and my decision lack.

As tears fill my eyes,
I grip the battered photo of you and me,
we went through thick and thin,
we set each other free.

My tears start to fall onto your beautiful face,
blurring out your picture perfect smile,
and I laugh under my breath remembering what you used to say,
those who wont laugh are vile!

As I dry the photo of my time beaten tears,
my fingers roll across your hair,
the soft, silky hair that only you possessed,
which you were only too glad to share.

The gloss of the photo has been long lost,
just the same as the gloss of our love,
time won the battle we could not win,
and you decided it was time to throw in the gloves.

Now as I clench the photo tightly,
I start to fall into a deep sleep, with you too,
hoping where my soul may fly,
the destination will be you.
