Forget

A ruthless past
an unforgiving future
beaten to the ground
battered, bleeding, stained
and scarred
scarred from all of those memories
trying to piece together a broken, bleeding heart
trying to start over
stitched back together and told to forget
you can't forget
you look to the ground
you remember lying there praying for death
look to the sky, you remember crying
to something beyond it
as your tears turned red
