Nightmares

Dark circles round her eyes,
would tell that she could never sleep
because all the fear she had
that she held inside so deep

She'd toss and turn a night
thinking something was gonna come
so she'd lye in bed in fright
dawning morning, for the sun

her heart would pound the hours
that time went by to slow
dreading every minute
but her fear, it wouldn't go

we know she couldn't sleep
but it wasn't cause the dreams
and it wasn't cause the dark
nor any fantasies

it was the torment of the past
she couldn't get off her mind
no one to protect her as she slept
not one hero she could find

the guy she called a Friend
would haunt her in her sleep
but no one knew she hurt
they couldn't see her weep

she lye down in a ball
blankets piled on
every inch was covered
she lye down, till hit dawn

she doesn't sleep at night
so the past wont haunt her dreams
she lies alone in the dark
so his face wont make her scream

Her heart alone would shake
and tremble as sun set
tears would fill her eyes
the past she couldnt forget

she slept one night before
but woke with bloody screams
because he filled her head
with explict horrible dreams

she couldnt stand the thought
of not sleeping one more night
or lying down in bed
and shaking non stop with fright

thinking he would get her
she knew she couldnt tell
so she put her self to sleep
on a knife she "slipped and fell"
