Masked

by Michael   Dec 12, 2005

A mask
is supposed to defy your perspective
of a person.
But do you know that
even if you look at me,
talk to me
or even touch me
I am not Me.

My spirit
and life is banished
by a mask.
My life is too different,
too complex than other.
So this is not punishment
this is protection.

This mask
stitched nicely
to fit me
but dares not let out the truth.

Nothing can come out
loneliness accompanies me
along with depression and shyness
to be forever lost...in my own world...

...but I can cut stitches...
