I tried not to love you,
I wasn't sure exactly how that would help.
So many tears were then shed.
Hurt was not meant.
But all I got was pain and just a failed attempt!
It was a failed attempt because I love you,
And that's all I want to do.

I tried to leave you,
that wasn't a smart thing to do.
It was another failed attempt.
It seems as if I just set myself up to get hurt,
but I'm happier than ever now that
I'm allowed back in your arms again.

Most everything that happens in my life,
are just examples of my:
...failed attempts...
but you aren't one of them.
