Brief Happiness

by Dean Russell-Rands   Dec 12, 2005

I smile a smile to hide my pain
But deep inside I'm going mad
For I long to cry my tears like rain
Over the lost happiness that I once had

When they ask, I shall lie
I'm fine I'll say to hide the grief
Which makes me long for the day I die
Why is happiness so short and brief?

For a while I smelt the roses
And lived life as it should be lived
But it ended like this poem closes
Short, upsetting and outlived

Very well written. I can relate so well. BTW that poem that I wrote was from last year. I just wanted some opinions on it. Check out my other work. They're not as depressing.

    It's so sad.
But it is so good. It flows so well. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to it.
