Butterfly's Flight (Wind)

by Michael   Dec 12, 2005

Upon the Earth,
on the land
and under the tree
I lay.

Under the tree's shadow
it secures me from the world.
I watch
as time and the wind
move the grass
across the hills.

But in a moment,
a winged messenger came
by it's orange and black wings
and rested upon my shoulders.

Silently
creeping to my hand
gently spreading it's wings
and slowly enclosing them once again
a small novelty toy
within my palms.

The wind rages again
and the wings spread open
upon gusts so powerful
leaving his troubles behind
and goes into the sky.

Soon
I stand and from my back
my wings are released.

Spread
touch the ground
praise to the sky
feet no longer touch Earth
only air.

Above
the sky is my new home
eyes can perceive Earth
as if a god
was protecting them all.

The air guides me
the air in my face
and the chains
forever broken.

My spirit finally free
forever to roam on this paradise,
but imagination is not reality.

The wind can carry me away
to be free from all
only when I learn
a butterfly's flight.
