EYES

by Galen Dangler   Dec 13, 2005

I know you're reading this
and I hope you're happy too
that I sat down here
And wrote this poem for you

It's kinda of dark down here
in this computer room
But my eyes will adjust to it
as yours will when they read this poem

They may be scared
They may get angry
But whether you know
or not

Our eyes say more to others
than perhaps
more than mouths ought

But I can't know your name
Your looks or where you're from but we know that inside we all bleed red
and we each have toes and thumbs

But as anatomy is alike no matter who you are
The mind and soul and spirit
Is as different as eye to eye

No eye is simply GREEN some are light and dark
Some have other colors some rather plain
others particularly stark

no matter how you slice it the pie becomes a stew
And no matter how you say it
The words are always
EYE love u
