The View From Here

by Jeremy Edmondson   Dec 13, 2005

Looking at you a child of sixteen
Growing everyday and being acquainted with the worlds struggles
I knew you as a child and I know the man you will become
I am gone now and I see every tear that falls and hear every word said
I know you have walked down the aisle many times to marry death and said I do many times
You blame the doctors for what became of a trying to make it home
Son, they did all they could
Just know these things as I tell you of my story
I felt no pain and hobble no more
I met death and smiled as it took me
You may feel at the bottom when you are really at the top but I am always there
The view from here is glorious indeed
It is here I look after you and guide your hand
Only the good come here
And I know your fate as others have told you
“child change your ways or you will be late for this salvation”
I loved you all while I was there but I always looked to the sky
Now that I am here and home to stay
I will view your life and help you in many ways
I will guide you until the day I can come and get you and bring you here too
And you too will take a seat beside me to view your children
To see the highest mountain and the deepest ocean
And you will view it all with heavenly insight
The way it was meant to be seen
The view from here is truly grand
And here I am waiting for you
