Ode to a Sunrise (written in less than 5 minutes)

by Kyle Schulz   Dec 13, 2005

Dim and dark it initially seems,
But oh it hides the most beautiful scenes,
Cloaked in darkness for the time being,
Shadowed so all who look are not seeing,
The true extent to which the new day hides,
A mountain, a desert, and ocean of tides,
May all be hidden within the concealment of night,
Until the sun comes and turns it bright.
But behold, to the chosen few,
The new day reflecting off the morning dew,
A light so pure it has never been seen,
To those who choose to sleep and enjoy their dream,
Early to bed and early to rise,
Might have more benefits than those of lies,
About your life and those of wealth,
Not to mention the ones about your health.
The magnificent beauty of the fresh day,
After before he passed on his way,
Can only be enjoyed those awake with the morn,
To you sunrise this ode I adorn.
