Thank you for taking me into your life,
For treating me as one of your own,
All the things you have done for me,
Our bond has definitely grown,

Thank you for listening to me,
About all my hopes and dreams,
Being there for me in the good times,
And when nothing is quite as it seems,

I want you to know that I love you,
And I can honestly say that I care,
We are not blood but it does not matter,
Cos for me you have always been there,

Sometimes we do not see eye to eye,
But that is just typical family life,
Sometimes we never even talk,
You could cut the air with a knife, (inside joke)

Thank you for understanding me now,
For finally letting me fly,
Never shed a tear my friend,
For this is not a goodbye.
