Sacrifice

by Anthony   Dec 13, 2005

Questions come with answers,
Come with debts and payment.
You caressed me,
And I loved.
I learned so much from you.
Things that I never thought were real.
Feelings of guilt,
Buried in the depths of love.
I sacrificed all I have,
To make yours worth more.
But I'm a burden.
A worry,
You love me,
I love you,
But I'm holding you back.
If they hurt you,
They hurt me.
I'm hurting you,
Hurting myself.
Theres no other way to live.
I have to let this happen.
Can you help me breathe?
Hold me.
Can you make me live?
Love me.
Are you the one?
Soothe me.
Can you leave me to love me?
Destroy me.
In the end I sacrifice me,
To keep from you
From sacrificing yourself.

Wow! I'm a bit taken back by this poem. This is very meaningful and has strong emotion throughout. I felt the feeling of trapped whilst reading it. Great work Anthony!
