The True Thoughts of Christmas

by Avrii Monrielle   Dec 14, 2005

Seeing presents piles up
Gifts being given
Candles lit
Decorations like heaven
Do you ever wonder
What Christmas is for?
Ever think
Christmas is more than just red and green?
It's allowed even
For those under over eighteen?
Ever wonder
What Christmas truly means?
Christmas is the joy of giving
The joy of making someone smile
Not for selfishness, but thankfulness
And kind thoughts all the while
A gleaming gift of silverness
Wishing to greet everyone's eyes
But really, what is Christmas
If you don't have any money?
No money, no shoes, it isn't funny
What if there's nothing in a Christmas stocking?
Not even a little tree?
Does that mean it's over?
Do you lose hope?
It can't be true...
After all, Christmas is supposed to be fun.
Really...
Christmas is for
Appreciating
The smallest you have
Not the biggest you don't.
Christmas is supposed to be
For thanks and blessings
Celebrating Jesus' birth
For he saved us from eternal debt
And was born to be our light in the dark
Christmas is for giving
Such as God gave us his son,
His son gave his life for us,
And we give everything
So have the gift of giving
Even if it's small
Christmas
Is for us all
And you can't take that back
For it's already real
