Oyster Bay

by debbie   Dec 14, 2005

Down Under's brightest dollar,
begins to shine in it's blue sky.
And awakens all the beauty,
Australia breathes for you and I.

The colour's attack my senses,
the sounds sing in my ears.
This feeling of enigma,
will touch this soul for years.

I walk it's sandy shoreline,
my lips taste it's salty air.
Dolphins jump the surface,
G'day I know you're there!

A koala in the branches,
he likes to sit and stare.
A Kookaburra breaks the silence,
he laughs, he doesn't care.

I love this land of lizards,
I've accepted the snakes and their bite.
I've even come to welcome,
the peacefulness of the night.
