A friend?

by debbie   Dec 14, 2005

Secret smiles,
a stolen kiss,
an attraction so strong,
It's hard to resist.

The heart beating faster,
passion surging in the vein,
the feeling of pleasure,
but also the shame!

Bodies locked tightly,
both tempting fate.
Can never be friends,
for now it's too late.

It shouldn't have happened,
my thoughts tell me so.
My heart let me down,
I feel the shame start to grow.

Everything is different,
I cannot turn back.
I listen to reason,
And ponder the facts.

Do I take safe,
do I take care?
Or do I take passion,
which might not always be there?

One thing I do know,
without reason or doubt,
What he thinks of me or that night,
I'll never find out.

but maybe just maybe,
that isn't such a bad thing.
Hearts can be broken,
with just a casual fling.

So I'll remember that night,
always with a smile,
when I loved a true friend,
time to stay away for awhile.
