A good memory

by debbie   Dec 14, 2005

A face which brought a memory,
of a time so long ago.
When I was so much younger,
with a future still unknown.

A face with a powerful memory,
with a past of just two days.
In a instant I was back there,
when his eyes caught my gaze.

Awhile it took him to remember me,
with a smile I knew he'd gone back.
To the same thought I was holding,
I blushed realizing that!

Maybe fate was standing by us?
It's amazing if it's so.
After all my years of traveling,
I see a man I used to know.

who once stirred something inside me,
at the time I didn't understand.
Something I know have realized,
has never happened with another man.

But a thought comes just as quickly,
I'm not that young girl anymore.
Time has made it's impression,
And it's shut my youthful door.

I do not have that figure,
more lines are on my face.
This time his thoughts might differ,
that good memory could be erased.

So like ships that are passing,
two strangers in the street.
with regret I change direction,
my gaze now fixed on my feet.
