Count to ten

by debbie   Dec 14, 2005

The hardest lesson in this life,
is to teach a child what's wrong or right.
With a little discipline,
let them know what's fair.
remember though to show you care.
Lots of patience,
try not to shout!
count to ten,
pull your hair out,
whistle a tune,
ignore their screams,
pretend that nothing is what it seems.
like every child across the street,
tantrums come,
they stamp their feet.
Demanding attention,
demanding a treat.
Screaming in the shop for the most colored sweet.
Then when the tears start to come,
give them a hug,
be their mum,
whisper words and calm them down,
then prepare yourself,
for the next round!
