Dad

by debbie   Dec 14, 2005

I have so many memories,
That I think about and laugh.
From childhood to the present,
That are locked deep within my heart.

There really is too many,
I could talk all day and night.
Of all that I remember,
But that's just me dad ,
am I right?

I know how much you loved me,
You knew I felt the same.
Even though when I was younger,
I thought you could be a royal pain.

Yet!
Who would I be without you?
Probably a plonker one of your favorite words.
So i know if you seen me crying,
You'd call me a Plonker if you could.

You'd tell me to "pull myself together"
then you'd probably tell a joke.
Then out would come those cans of lager,
to see who could drink and argue the most.

But!
I'm really going to miss you,
It's hard to know you're gone!
See, I always guessed you'd be there,
when you've been there for so long.

And Dad!
You always was there for me,
And I know that was quite alot.
You kept telling me ,
"Be a Survivor"
which are words I've not forgot!

So good bye Dad,
I'll never forget you.
Well it's impossible you see.
Not only because I love you,
But because,
There'll always be a part of you in me!
