FRIENDS

by TOM ZART   Dec 14, 2005

Great souls by instinct
To each other turn,
As side by side
Their lessons they learn.

One soul in two bodies
Describes a good Friend,
One who will need you
'Till God's angels descend.

Prosperity makes us lots of friends
Though adversity rids us of most.
What few we keep, we always love
Long after they are but ghost.

Out of the night, which covers us
It's easy to see where friends are made;
Among the stars, behind the moon
Where heaven begins its parade.
