Red Gold & Green

by Kym   Dec 15, 2005

He picked up the present from under the tree
Red & gold with ribbons of green
Santa had been in the dark of the night
Leaving gifts and fullfilling dreams

He knew he could not have his wish
But he did not understand why
Daddy had said he was sorry
But all he could do now was cry

These words he didnt know before
Passed away, passed over, dead
They were cruel words filled with blackness
Constantly rolling around in his head

Holding the present he turned the label
Seeing words that made him go numb
Gold letters & sparkles & kissess
All my love, forever, your mum

Well you've hit the nail on the head so to speak. I've just read several of your other poems, so I'm hooked now!

Hi, no loss = not recently anyway. I just write about anything and try to express it how I think it would feel if that makes sense

When was your loss? It seems so fresh, my thoughts go out to you and yours.
